Assembling Doll Body
attaching the limbs Part 1 - Attaching arms and legs
1
Run plastic ties or elastic through arm and leg 'hems' of cloth body if necessary.
[Our Vinyl kits have ties already in cloth body.] close up of ties and limbs
2 Place arm(s) and leg(s) into body opening, making sure the limbs are positioned correctly.
The hem of the cloth body that has the plastic tie in it fits into the groove of the limb
tightening leg/arm/head ties.
3
Hold the doll's limb in one hand while pulling are tightly as you can on the plastic tie or elastic with your other hand. Again - make sure the limb is positioned correctly BEFORE tightening as you cannot loosen the plastic tie once it is tightened
4
Make sure the lock joints on the plastic ties are tight so your arms & legs will stay in position when you pose them.
• We're using a needle-nose pliers here to tighten the plastic ties. A hemostat will work as well.
If you are using elastic, a pair of hemostats will hold the elastic ends tight to the cloth as you pull harder and harder. Add a drop of glue to the elastic knots to secure after tieing off
5 Repeat Steps 1 through 4 for all arms and legs
6 Cut off the ends of the plastic ties with a scissors or clippers.

Part 2 - Stuffing the Body

You will use approximately 3 cups (24 oz) of plastic pellets for your doll.
armature

If you want a doll that you can "pose" place an Armature Body into the cloth body now. Adjust the length of the body (opening to crotch) and the length of the armature "arms" and "legs" to fit - removing or adding pieces (beads) of armature as necessary.
7 With polyfil, stuff vinyl leg openings to close hole, and to pad around the crotch form the rump.
pouring pellets 8 Fill body with body pellets to weight the bottom of the body.  You can make a bag of pellets using the toe of an old nylon stocking and place this bag into the doll's rump if you want.
You can alternate pellets with a small amount of polyfil stuffing if you wish to make a 'firm' body.

9
Fill the body cavity with pellets or alternating pellets and light stuffing to about the 'waist'
stuff form the top of the body
If using an armature, stuff and pellet around the armature beads. Pellets aren't really necesary with armature.
Stuff arm portion of the cloth body with poly-fil. Using hemostats helps position the polyfil where you want it
Stuffing tightly prevents limbs from moving freely. Loosely stuff arm area if using armature. stuffing arm area

If you want your baby to sit up well you'll need to stuff the body firmly and use pellets and/or use armature.
stuffing the body
If you want your doll to be "cuddly" like a newborn loosely stuff the body cavity.
Alternate body pellets and fiberfil throughout the body cavity until the body feels like you want it to. pellets in neck area
Putting pellets into the neck area of the body cavity makes the head wobble, adding to that 'newborn' look and feel.
Putting on the head
Part 3 - Attaching the head
10 Thread the plastic tie or elastic through the head "hem" if not already done.
11
Insert the head into the opening in the stuffed body, positioning the head looking forward.
12
With one hand hold the head steady and with the other hand hold the strap and pull as tight as you can.

Gluing the wig in place on the head before attaching the head is optional.
