Many people have emailed
us to ask how to string a doll. Here are the basics....
These diagrams
show how the elastic goes into the doll.
You'll need elastic,
and neck hooks or E-Z links and also
something to secure the hooks into the hands and legs, such as epoxy
putty .
<--- You'll
notice the little slots on the upper part of the baby legs - you
put a washer or an EZ Link through the leg.
All these things
do is give you something to attach the elastic to and hold the limbs
on.
You'll need a wooden neck button
or washer or coil screw or something to put into the doll's head
that you can run the elastic through also.
| |
Arms are strung with elastic
together - arm to arm.
Elastic to legs goes up into
the head.

There are many excellent books giving
complete instructions. Both Martha Armstong-Hand's Learning
to Be a Doll Artist and Helen Schaeffer's Beautiful
Dolls Made Easy, found in our Book Section, have detailed instructions.
