An invisible doll stand is made with a wooden base with a dowel rod glued
into a hole pre-drilled into the wooden base. The dowel rod runs through
the base of a doll's foot. (You cut the hole in the foot prior to bisque
firing.) |
 |
When you make an invisible stand, make it for 2 dowel rods, and put the
rods up both of your dolls legs. If you have a doll with a bent leg, like
Chari from Doll Artworks or Ali Hansen's lady dolls, make one of the dowels
shorter -- just long enough to hold the bent leg in place. |
 |
| Instead
of leaving the base just plain wood, I cover it with fabric and lace with
string pearls around the sides. I also covered one with a mirror, had
a hole drilled in the center, and made an ice skater with one leg behind
her. |
I did this to Ali Hansen's
36" lady doll and made a bride doll and got a blue ribbon AND compliments
from the judges on the way I did the stand.
